Lázár Kovács, one of the most talented among the young representatives of Hungarian cuisine has achieved many things in Hungary. He has become a media star and his own restaurant has also gained acclaim. This is why it was a bit surprising to hear that he plans to move to the US at the end of the summer, to become chef of the Hungarian Embassy in Washington. – Kálmán Kalla had the greatest influence on my career and the fact that he had also worked for the embassy did play a part in making this decision. He not only regards his new job as a great challenge but also as an opportunity to visit as many restaurants as possible to learn. His restaurant in Budapest will remain open, operated either by his sisters or under lease.
