The full food chain supervision will come under ministerial control from October

From October 1, the national chief veterinarian, and thus the specialty of the entire food chain supervision, will be under the direct ministerial control of the Ministry of Agriculture (AM), the ministry told MTI on Monday.

According to the information, the organizational change will contribute to making this area even more important in Hungary. Bognár Lajos, the national chief veterinarian, will be responsible for the professional management of food chain safety in the future.

Minister of Agriculture Nagy István emphasized in the statement that food chain security is one of the areas that affects everyone. Preservation and development of the necessary tools have social and national economic importance. (MTI)
