AM: despite the drought, the wheat harvest covers domestic needs
Despite the drought, the wheat harvest covers domestic needs, but much less is exported than before, said the state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) responsible for agriculture and rural development at the press conference after the meeting of the Harvest Coordination Committee on Friday in Budapest.
Feldman Zsolt announced that the harvest of autumn barley has ended, and the harvest of autumn wheat and rapeseed is in progress at a third of the sowing area. In addition to the effects of the war in Ukraine, this year farmers also have to face the fact that the drought will cause significant damage, but they can count on the government’s help, he added.
