Apple Product Board: no steps were made nothing to alleviate the apple crisis
According to the North-East Hungarian Apples and Other Fruit Interprofessional Organization and Marketing Board (ÉKASZ), despite the numerous proposals and visions no meaningful concrete actions were made to alleviate the crisis in the apple market.
The Apple Marketing Board in its communication sent to MTI on Wednesday says that the short-term measures can not be used to enhance the competitiveness of the producers.
The organization considers it to be impracticable and contrary to the market economy that the Magyar Kereskedőház Zrt. buys the juice concentrate from the juice plants, while the juice factories retrospectively pay 20 HUF per kilogram to the producers instead of 12 forint HUF. Similarly, they also reject the possibility that the trading house buys up the edible apples for 35 HUF per kilo. (MTI)
