Less but better quality wheat than last year
Farmers expect the wheat harvest to be around 4.5 million tons – less than the usual quantity but better quality. Experts of the Grain Producer’s Association – Hungary (GOSZ) reported that by the time the harvest starts barley and wheat will reach a state of balanced ripeness. Yield is expected to be the lowest in the Kunság and Nyírség regions, but in the Transdanubian part of Hungary and in Hajdú, Békés and Csongrád counties the yield can reach 8 tons.
