Nielsen's first experiences by Aldi in Poland

The first stores of the German discount chain were opened on West and South part of Poland, the offer was more than 900 kind of products, 95% of them FMCG.

 The researched unit in Poznan has 197
sorts of dried wares, from sweets 124 sorts, from consumer healthcare
products, inclusing baby care 115 sorts, form diaries 71 sorts, from
chemicals 64, from deep frost 42, from non-alcoholic 41, from spirits
34, from cigarettes 10 sorts.
No baby food and haircolor were sold,
from beer only one sort of Belgian privat lebel brand, neiter Polish
beer were offered.
Ad activity was no more than sending
prospects to households near to the shop.
