The basis of successful agriculture is a sustainable food industry
Hungary has always had a strong culture of agriculture, and today successful agricultural countries can be those where the food industry is also successful – said Márton Nobilis at the opening of the Clever Food exhibition on Wednesday at the Hungarian Agricultural Museum.
The final product is one of the most important parts of the food industry, which is why it is important that the government thinks about the food industry in such a way as to give special support to this area – pointed out Márton Nobilis, the State Secretary responsible for the food industry and agricultural vocational training at the Ministry of Agriculture. He added that we must pay attention to the protection of our environment, as well as to ensure that the least amount of food remains ends up in the trash. Márton Nobilis reminded that the Hungarian government and Nébih were among the first in the European Union to start dealing with this topic. In 2016, the “Without Leftovers” program was also introduced, thanks to which the amount of food thrown away in Hungary decreased by 27 percent. The State Secretary praised the organizers in relation to the Clever Food exhibition. According to his words, a modern exhibition has been created that can take its place anywhere in the world. He emphasized that we have reason to be proud, as we are ahead of the curve in the European Union.
