Many people often collect food for the needy, but less attention is paid to the fact that among them there are also those whose diets require special attention due to food sensitivities or diabetes. The National Association of Hungarian Dietitians (MDOSZ), the Hungarian Red Cross and Auchan came together specifically for them, so that, with the latter’s foundation support, recipe books of cheap meals will be made, with special food packages also given to those in need who live with diabetes, lactose and gluten sensitivity. The donations are delivered to them by the Hungarian Red Cross, but anyone can download the recipe books compiled by the dieticians for free from the websites of the MDOSZ, the Hungarian Red Cross or Auchan.

With the cooperation of the National Association of Hungarian Dietitians, the Hungarian Red Cross and the Auchan Foundation, this time, needy people with food sensitivities and diabetes will receive food that they can also eat.

With the financial support of the Auchan Foundation, the National Association of Hungarian Dietitians compiled three types of recipe books: for diabetics, gluten- and lactose-intolerant. They have specially collected recipes that require accessible and cheap ingredients. Of course, the recipes can be useful not only for the needy, but also for others who struggle with the given health problem, so they can be downloaded free of charge from the websites of all three participants of the activity, and in the case of dietitians, from the website okostanyer.hu.

In addition to the expertly prepared recipes, charity also gained a lot of space in the collaboration, as the Hungarian Red Cross delivered food packages suitable for their diets to 200 needy people with funding from the Auchan Foundation. These special compositions mainly contained flour (e.g. rice flour) and pasta (e.g. chickpea pasta), oil containing Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, oily seeds, erythritol for diabetics, and UHT lactose-free milk for those with lactose intolerance. All packages uniformly contained sauerkraut, sliced canned mushrooms and broad beans to promote a balanced diet. The donation packages weighed 7 and a half kilos, and their value ranged from 9 to 11 thousand forints.
