Corn prices up 22 percent from a year ago
Agricultural marketNewsPublication According to Tallage, the spot export price (FOB Gulf) of corn produced in the United States decreased by $1 to $210/ton between April 4 and May 8. In Argentina, the price of the immediate delivery crop (FOB) was $13 lower, at $204/ton, during the same period. In Brazil, the August export price (FOB) of corn fell by $14 and the September price by $7, both to $207/ton.

In Ukraine, the spot port price (FOB) of the crop increased by $13 to $249/ton during the indicated period. In Bulgaria and Romania, the spot market price of corn was $10 higher, at $253/ton (FOB) during the same period. In France (FOB Bordeaux), the price of the crop for the immediate-September delivery terms decreased by $19: immediate was $218/ton, June was $219/ton, August was $222/ton, and September was $223/ton on May 8. In Hungary, according to AKI PÁIR data, feed corn changed hands at an average producer price of HUF 77,100/ton in the second week of May, which exceeded the previous year by 22 percent. On the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, corn was quoted in the range of $174–179/ton in July between May 5 and 16. On the Paris Mercantile Exchange, the June settlement price of the crop fluctuated between EUR 192–198/ton at the same time.
