Henkel has published its 2022 sustainability report
Henkel has published its 32nd Sustainability Report, in which it presents its performance and its achievements in the area of sustainability strategy and goals. In a very challenging market environment, the company has been able to make progress in several key dimensions of sustainability, in particular by further reducing CO2 emissions and expanding social engagement.
“I can’t remember a year in the recent past when the general business environment has been so challenging for our company. The war in Ukraine has deeply shaken us and had far-reaching consequences. It has reshaped the economic environment, especially the energy crisis and higher commodity prices. But it is precisely in such difficult times that it is even more important to focus on sustainability and fulfill our responsibility towards the environment and society. Despite the challenges, we managed to make further progress in achieving most of our ambitious sustainability goals last year. I would like to thank our more than 50,000 Henkel employees worldwide for their great commitment and dedication”
– said Carsten Knobel, chairman of Henkel’s board of directors.
“In 2022, the increased use of renewable energy sources brought us a significant step closer to the goal of achieving climate-positive production by 2030. We have also made further progress in the field of gender equality. The proportion of women in management positions rose to 38.7 percent in 2022. We are determined to continue to exploit the potential of our diversity through concrete programs and measures”
– added Sylvie Nicol, member of Henkel’s Board of Directors responsible for Human Resources and Sustainability.
