In the third quarter, euro area GDP grew by 2.2 percent on a quarterly basis
In the third quarter, euro area gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.2 percent from the previous quarter, according to a report by the European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat, on Tuesday.
Euro area gross domestic product grew by 2.2 percent quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter closed in September, after growing by 2.1 percent in the second quarter.
In the first quarter, euro area GDP contracted by 0.3 percent on a quarterly basis. Euro area GDP fell the most in the second quarter of last year, by 11.8 percent on a quarterly basis, followed by growth of 12.4 percent in the third quarter. (MTI)
