The counterfeit goods caused 900 billion USD damage this year
The “counterfeiting industry” is dynamically growing in the world: the damage done is 900 billion USD this year, compared with the 250 billion USD of 2007 – said Simándi Andrea, leader of the Simándi Bird & Bird law firm, at a press conference in Budapest
While in the European Union ten years ago, 10 million pieces of counterfeit goods were seized, in 2009 this figure reached 117 million. In Hungary last year, 4,044 cases of fake products were seized by the authorities, which is 413 percent growth, compared to the 979 seizures of 2006 – reports mfor.hu, after MTI.
