The Gallicoop turkey processor is crisis resistant
The determining Hungarian poultry company, the Gallicoop Pulykafeldolgozó Zrt. based in Szarvas closed last year with a 31 billion HUF revenue. That means a 13.6 percent sales increase, compared to the 27.3 billion HUF sales revenue of 2010 – the company told MTI on Friday.
Despite the significantly higher costs, the company could increase the sales amount of turkey meat last year by 0.9 percent. The revenues from exports rose by 26 percent, compared to the previous year.
The company in 2011 bought 37,231 tons of turkeys providing the 9.3 percent of the total domestic poultry production and 40 percent of the turkey production. Gallicoop in 2011, sold 23,637 tons of turkey meat. The domestic market share of the company in 2011 increased to 43 percent from the previous year's 40.4 percent.
