Domestic hospitality was not in such a big trouble due to covid – will the tourist rescue operation help?
The sector is under such an all-out fire that people living today have simply never experienced. Now everyone is calculating, but it is clear that the key factor in this situation is who has had what kind of clientele so far – said the gastronomic consultant László Ruprecht in a recent interview with Pénzcentrum.
“A very difficult period is coming. We are also experiencing from the association’s side that the first invoices are now coming, and the negotiations with the energy supply companies have already been completed, so the costs of operating the restaurants are slowly becoming clear. hospitality requires a lot of staff, which also only adds to the problems”
says Rubrecht.
“The few years before covid were the golden age, it’s true, even then the sector was struggling with a labor shortage, we can even call it a crisis, and then after the pandemic there was even less labor, but prices rose, the big wage increase came in, and for this already the rise in raw material and energy prices put the crown on a crisis situation”
Now everyone is calculating, but it is clear that the key factor in this situation is who has had what type of clientele so far.
