5 million tons of winter wheat was produced this year
The summer harvesting works have been completed in the country. The winter wheat production reached about 5 million tons – the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture told at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
Czerván György after the meeting of the Harvest Coordination Committee said that the national average yield was 5.2 tons per hectare, thus harvesting about 5 million tons of crops from 958 thousand hectares. The highest yields were in Tolna (6.17 tons per hectare) and Baranya county (6.15 tons per hectare). (MTI)
