The highest yield per hectare of fodder crops is in Tolna county
The average yield of maize per tonne in Tolna County exceeded eight tonnes. Most of the yield is processed by domestic bioethanol factories.
According to the data of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK), maize was cultivated on 79 504 hectares, while a total of 626 369 tonnes of fodder was harvested from 98 percent of the area.
Tolna County’s 8.08-tonnes harvest per hectare is the highest in the country, though it lags behind the 9.3-tonnes per hectare average of last year – Vendégh Edit, Tolna County Director of NAK told MTI. (MTI)
