MNB: food and tobacco products increased inflation in September
Inflation increased by 0.2 percentage points in September, compared to the previous month. The growth was driven by rising food and tobacco prices – Várhegyi Judit, head of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) – told M1 news channel.
Fuel prices increased by 15 percent, while food prices rose by 5 percent, while in case of other product groups a more moderate price change was experienced.
In the past months, the price of seasonal foods, fruits and vegetables increased by 4-5 percent. (MTI)
