The 80-member jury has sent three Hungarian cheeses to the podium at the Mondial du Fromage, where more than half a thousand cheeses were competing. The Mondial du Fromage, the most prominent world cup of cheeses is held in Torus, near Paris. This great result may open the way for the Hungarian cheeses in international gastronomy.
Among the most famous cheese-making nations in the world, like the French, Dutch, and Italian, many countries represented themselves at the Mondial du Fromage. Hungary, Brazil and Japan were newcomers. About 600 cheese specialties entered the competition, a jury of 80 professionals evaluated the cheeses behind closed doors.
