AKI: agricultural foreign trade surplus decreased the, but the proportion of processed products has increased last year
The exports of agricultural and food products decreased last year, while imports increased, so the foreign trade surplus of the sector declined compared to the previous year, while the exchange rate of the agricultural economy improved and the share of high-processed products increased in exports – the Agricultural Research Institute (AKI) announced on Friday.
According to an analysis of the Central Statistical Office, exports of agricultural and food products increased by 2.2 percent to 8685 million euros, imports increased by 12.8 percent and amounted to 5816 million euros. Agricultural foreign trade activity amounted to 2869 million euros, 424.7 million euros less than in 2017. (MTI)
