Plant-based diets and diabetes
According to two new studies, a plant-based diet can significantly reduce the risk of developing or worsening type 2 diabetes. Following a plant-based diet reduces inflammatory dietary advanced glycation end products (AGE) by nearly 80%, a biomarker that predicts type 2 diabetes – informs a new study published in the medical journal Dietary Science and Practice. Another study in Diabetologia claims there is evidence that a nutritious plant-based diet is associated with a lower incidence of type 2 diabetes. //
